Village cores
Each village has its own small grid around a church and square. These separate clusters are scattered across the poster rather than merging into a single city.

Milpa Alta Map Poster & Print
Milpa Alta is the southeastern borough of Mexico City, and by far its most rural. Most of its land is volcanic uplands, farms and forest rather than urban streets. Its villages keep strong Nahua traditions, and Nahuatl is still spoken in some households.
The borough is known for growing nopal cactus, and San Pedro Atocpan, one of its villages, is famous for mole. On a map, Milpa Alta looks nothing like central Mexico City. Small village grids sit apart from each other, linked by winding roads, with open slopes and volcanic cones such as Teuhtli between them.
A Milpa Alta map poster shows a side of Mexico City that most visitors never see. The print captures the scattered villages, the spaces between them and the curving roads that link them. It suits anyone who knows this highland corner of the capital, or anyone looking for an unusual view of the city.

Volcanic slopes
Extinct volcanoes and highland ground occupy large parts of the borough. On paper they appear as open space around and between the settlements.
Winding connecting roads
Roads link the villages as they climb and descend the hillsides. Their curves make an elegant thread across an otherwise quiet map.

Näme üçin Milpa Alta
Many bar bolan karta
For people from Milpa Alta, a map of the borough represents villages, fiestas and family land. For people elsewhere in Mexico City, it offers a view of the capital very different from the usual dense grid.
