Mim is a town in the Ahafo Region of western Ghana, in the moist forest zone where cocoa farming shapes both the economy and the landscape. On a map it appears as a compact settlement that grew up around a main road. Side streets branch out from it and gradually thin into farmland and bush.
The plan is practical rather than formal. Streets run in short sections, some roughly parallel and others bending with the ground, and the densest part of town sits where the routes meet. Beyond that core the lines become sparse. Here towns are islands in a wider green country of farms and forest.
