Moju is a municipality in the northeast of the Brazilian state of Pará, south of Belém, in the low country of the lower Amazon, laced with water. The town takes its name from the Moju River, which is the defining feature on the map. It is a wide, winding channel, with smaller creeks branching away from it into the surrounding green.
The urban area is modest and sits close to the water, with a small grid of streets running back from the riverbank. Beyond it, roads are few and long, and waterways carry much of the region's traffic, as is common across this part of Pará. The contrast between the neat blocks of town and the looping rivers gives the map an unusual, organic balance.
