Molo is in Nakuru County, in the highlands west of the Rift Valley floor. It is one of the higher towns in Kenya, at around 2,500 metres, and the cool climate shapes how it looks from above. The town has a small commercial centre along its main roads, with farm plots spreading across the rolling ridges around it and patches of forest toward the Mau.
The town grew up beside the old Uganda Railway, and the railway line still runs through the map as a long gentle curve, following the contours as it crosses the highlands. The area is known for farming at altitude, especially potatoes, and for the Molo lamb that became a familiar name in Kenyan kitchens.
A Molo map poster is less about dense streets than about how a small town sits in open country. The main roads form a simple cross. Minor tracks spread out between fields, and the railway gives the whole composition a single strong line. In black and white, the pattern of farm roads over the hills looks almost like a textile.
