Morales Map Poster & Print
Morales is a municipality in the south of Bolívar department, in the lowlands of the Magdalena river basin. The land here is low and flat, and water shapes it heavily. Rivers, channels and marshy lagoons, the ciénagas typical of this part of Colombia, spread across the landscape. The town itself sits close to the water and has a small, fairly regular grid of streets.
From above, the town is only a small group of blocks, while the surrounding wetlands take up most of the map. The edges of lagoons and wandering channels make irregular shapes that change with the seasons. Roads are few and short. In much of the region, the river has long been the main route for people and goods.
A Morales map poster suits people with family roots in the south of Bolívar, those who have worked in the region, and anyone who wants a record of a town shaped by water. The drawing gives equal weight to the small grid of streets and the wide wetland around it.

Ciénagas and lagoons
Shallow lagoons and marshy water bodies surround the town. They form large irregular shapes that dominate the lower Magdalena lowlands.
Water routes
Channels and rivers wind through the region. For a long time they have been at least as important for travel as the roads.
