Mount Pleasant Map Poster & Print
Mount Pleasant is the county seat of Isabella County, in the centre of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. The city is laid out on a largely regular grid, typical of the Midwest, with a compact downtown and residential blocks extending in every direction. The Chippewa River winds through the town, its banks lined with a chain of parks that breaks up the straight streets.
Central Michigan University takes up a large part of the south side. On the map its campus reads clearly as a zone of larger buildings, quads, athletic fields and parking within the grid, and the university shapes much of the city's life. Mount Pleasant is also closely connected with the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, whose reservation lands and Soaring Eagle resort are nearby.
People often buy a Mount Pleasant map poster to mark their time at CMU: the house they rented, the route to class, the stadium on game days. Around those personal points, the river, the parks and the steady grid form a balanced composition that looks good at any of the six print sizes.
