State line edge
The Indiana–Illinois border runs along the west side of Munster as a clean straight line. It gives the town one of the sharpest edges in the composition.

Munster Map Poster & Print
Munster is a town in Lake County, in the north-west corner of Indiana. It sits against the Illinois state line, within the wider Chicago area. Its western edge on the map is a straight political boundary rather than a natural one. The streets on both sides line up with it, so the town feels firmly set in the region's survey grid.
Inside that frame the pattern is residential and calm. Main roads follow the square-mile grid, and curving subdivisions, cul-de-sacs and school grounds fill the spaces between them. The Little Calumet River crosses the northern part of town. It brings a band of wetland, parkland and flood embankments that breaks the regular order.
A Munster map poster shows a place people know from daily life rather than postcards: the drive to school, the commute toward Chicago, the park near the house. In Noir or Blueprint the grid looks graphic and architectural. In Paper or Sand it softens into something closer to an old survey sheet.

Little Calumet River
The river winds through the north of town, lined by open land and flood-control embankments. They appear as a soft green break in the street pattern.
Square-mile grid
Major roads follow the Midwestern mile grid. Within each square the neighbourhoods curve and loop, a pattern that is especially clear from above.
