Mūvattupula Map Poster & Print
Mūvattupula, also written Muvattupuzha, is in Ernakulam district in central Kerala. Its name refers to three rivers, the Kaliyar, the Thodupuzhayar and the Kothayar, which meet here to form the Muvattupuzha River. From above, this confluence is the centre of the map, and the town's streets are arranged around the water and the bridges that cross it.
The town is an important road junction and trading centre in the midland region between the coast and the Western Ghats. Rubber and pineapple are grown extensively in the surrounding countryside. Main roads leading toward Kochi, Kottayam and the hills beyond cross the town.
A Mūvattupula map poster shows the rivers as curving bands that come together. Streets gather along the banks, and roads branch out toward the green hills around the town. It is a geography that makes sense instantly on paper, which is rare for a town of this size.

River bridges
Bridges carry the main roads across the water. They stand out as short, strong lines linking the parts of the town.
Midland roads
Roads leave the town toward the coast and the hills, winding through gently rolling, heavily planted land.
