Nootdorp lies just east of The Hague, in the low peat landscape of South Holland. It is now part of the municipality of Pijnacker-Nootdorp. On a map, the old village centre is a small, irregular cluster of streets, and newer residential districts spread out around it, planned along canals and water features that manage the level of the polder.
