Novoaltaysk Map Poster & Print
Novoaltaysk lies on the right bank of the Ob River, directly across from Barnaul, the capital of Altai Krai. Its shape comes from the railway. The town grew around a junction and a large railway-car plant, and the tracks and yards still take up a large, clearly defined share of the map.
Around this industrial core are residential districts: blocks of Soviet-era apartment buildings and areas of low private houses. Stands of pine forest reach close to the town on several sides. From above, the result is a varied texture of dense housing blocks, fine-grained cottage streets and quiet stretches of woodland.
A Novoaltaysk map poster shows the long, straight bundles of track, the housing districts laid out beside them and the broad Ob channel to the west. Bridges across the river link the town to Barnaul, and the forest softens the town's outer edges.

The Ob crossing
Across the river lies Barnaul. The wide Ob and its bridges mark the western edge and show the close link between the two cities.
Pine woodland
Forest comes right up to the residential areas. In monochrome it becomes calm open space around the grid of streets.
