Palencia Map Poster & Print
Palencia is a municipality in the department of Guatemala, to the east of the capital. The terrain here is mountainous and cut by ravines. On the map, the town centre sits on a stretch of higher ground, with a small grid around a central square. Beyond that, streets and roads follow ridges and drop into valleys wherever the land allows.
Guatemala's central highlands are marked by deep barrancos, steep ravines that shape where people can build. That shows clearly on the map around Palencia. Built-up areas stretch along ridgelines, while the ravines stay green and empty. Winding roads connect the town with the villages and aldeas spread around the municipality.
A Palencia map poster shows a highland town that follows the land rather than a plan. The centre's small grid gives way to curving roads and branching paths as the ground falls away. The ravines appear as open spaces between the streets, giving the composition depth. It is a clear picture of a town set into mountainous terrain.

Ridge-top roads
Roads leave the centre along the higher ground, forming winding lines that branch out toward surrounding villages.
Ravines
Deep barrancos cut between the built-up areas. On the map they appear as open, empty channels that give shape to the whole town.
