Palmela Map Poster & Print
Palmela is a town in Setúbal district in Portugal, south of Lisbon across the Tagus. It is built on a hill with a castle at the top. The Castle of Palmela was once the seat of the Order of Santiago, and today it houses a pousada. The old town climbs toward it in winding streets.
From the castle, the land falls away toward the Serra da Arrábida, the Sado estuary and plains covered with vineyards. Palmela is known for its wine, including the Moscatel de Setúbal and wines under the Palmela designation. The surrounding countryside is a patchwork of vines, orchards and farm roads.
A Palmela map poster captures a classic Portuguese hill-town. Streets curve around the castle hill, then spread out into newer neighbourhoods and the countryside below. The contrast between the dense top of the hill and the open land around it gives the print a strong focal point.

Winding old town
The historic centre descends the slopes in narrow, irregular streets. They make a dense pattern that contrasts with the modern areas below.
Vineyard plain
Around the town, vineyards and farmland are divided into many small plots. Their fine outlines fill the lowland with a gentle texture.
