Perry is in Houston County, Georgia, south of Macon on Interstate 75. It has long promoted itself as the Crossroads of Georgia, and its map supports the name: several highways converge on the town, and the interstate runs down its western side as a long, straight line.
The historic downtown is a compact grid of short blocks with older commercial buildings, and residential streets extend around it with more curving subdivisions on the edges.
