Section-line grid
Major roads follow the square farm survey of the valley, so the map divides into large, regular blocks that fill in with smaller residential streets at different densities.

Pharr Map Poster & Print
Pharr sits in the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas, part of the chain of cities in Hidalgo County that have grown into one another along the US 83 corridor. From above, the land is almost perfectly flat, and the streets follow the old square survey lines that once divided farm tracts and citrus groves. The result is a patient, even grid with only occasional diagonals.
South of the town centre, the grid thins into fields and canals before it meets the Rio Grande. The Pharr–Reynosa International Bridge crosses there and carries a large share of the valley's freight traffic, especially fresh produce from Mexico. On a map it shows up as a long, straight road with a lot of empty space on either side, which makes it look deliberate and a little stark.
A Pharr map poster turns this layout into a clean study of lines. The expressway runs east to west as a strong horizontal. The section roads draw a regular lattice, and irrigation channels break it in places with thin curving strokes. In black and white it reads almost like graph paper, marked with the small signs of a working border town.

Border bridge corridor
A long, straight route runs south through open land to the international bridge over the Rio Grande, one of the valley's main commercial crossings.
Irrigation canals
Thin canals and drainage lines curve across the rectilinear streets. They are left over from the farming that shaped the valley before the suburbs arrived.
