Valley-floor town
With little flat ground available, the streets follow the valley in a long strip, so the town appears stretched along one axis rather than spreading outward.

Pingli Map Poster
Pingli lies in the far south of Shaanxi, in the mountainous country of Ankang, near the borders with Hubei and Chongqing. The land is steep and folded, and the town fits where the valleys allow it to. On the map, the built-up area follows the valley floor in a narrow band, with roads tracing the line of a river.
Around the town, the terrain rises quickly. Minor roads snake up side valleys to scattered villages, and large parts of the map are left almost empty, marked only by the thin lines of streams and tracks. This gives the composition a strong sense of scale, with a small settlement set within a much larger landscape of ridges.
The area is largely rural and known for tea grown on its hillsides. A Pingli map poster keeps things simple: a linear town, a river and the faint network of mountain roads, drawn in clean black and white or one of the warmer styles.
