Ramos is a municipality in the province of Tarlac, in the central plain of Luzon. This is one of the country's main rice-growing areas, and the land around the town is flat and heavily cultivated, with fields divided by dikes, farm roads and irrigation channels.
From above, the town centre, or poblacion, is a small grid of streets around the municipal hall and church. Beyond it, the map shows barangays spread along roads, each a short line of houses in the fields, connected by straight roads to the centre and to neighbouring towns.
