Redenção Map Poster & Print
Redenção lies in the state of Ceará in north-eastern Brazil, south of Fortaleza. It sits at the edge of the Maciço de Baturité, a range of green hills that rises above the dry sertão. The town is small and compact, and its street plan follows the valley floor, with roads climbing toward the farms and hillside villages around it.
Its name means redemption, and it marks the town's place in Brazilian history. In 1883 the municipality, then called Acarape, became the first in Brazil to free all its enslaved people, five years before national abolition. The town keeps monuments to that event, and it is a point of pride throughout Ceará.
Redenção is also home to UNILAB, a federal university founded to bring together students from Brazil and Portuguese-speaking African countries, and its campus buildings stand out on the map. A Redenção map poster combines the compact centre, the campus and the soft lines of the hills in a quiet composition that is easy to read.

UNILAB campus
The federal university's campus sits on the edge of town. Its buildings and grounds read as a distinct, open parcel next to the smaller residential grid.
Baturité foothills
The rising ground nearby belongs to the Baturité massif. Its winding roads and scattered farms soften the edges of the map.

Many bar bolan karta
Redenção's story matters well beyond Ceará, and a map of it can honour that history as much as a hometown. Students from Brazil and Africa who studied at UNILAB may also want it as a keepsake of their years here.
