Richmond Map Poster & Print
Richmond covers a broad stretch of the East Bay shoreline north of Berkeley, where San Francisco Bay narrows toward San Pablo Bay. Few cities in the region have as much waterfront. The map shows a long, indented edge of points, inner harbours, marshland and former shipyards, and the Richmond–San Rafael Bridge leaves the Point Richmond area for Marin County across the water.
During the Second World War, the Kaiser shipyards here built hundreds of Liberty and Victory ships, and the city's population grew fast as workers arrived from across the country. The Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park on the Marina Bay waterfront remembers that history. Inland, a mostly regular street grid spreads toward the hills, crossed by freeways and rail lines.
A Richmond map poster brings together the city's two sides: the industrial and maritime edge along the bay, and the residential grid that climbs toward the East Bay hills. The refinery, rail yards and port facilities become abstract blocks. The shoreline, drawn as a single line, gives the whole composition its distinctive outline.

Richmond–San Rafael Bridge
The long bridge leaves the western tip of the city and crosses the bay to Marin County. It is a thin, confident line running out across open water at the edge of the poster.
Marina Bay
The former shipyard area around Marina Bay is home to the Rosie the Riveter memorial and national park. It shows as a sheltered harbour with orderly piers and newer residential streets beside it.
