San Antonio de Padua is part of Merlo Partido, on the western edge of Greater Buenos Aires. Its map follows the classic Argentine pattern: a steady grid of square blocks, broken only by the railway and by a few diagonal avenues. The Sarmiento line runs through the middle. The station is the natural centre of the town, with shops clustered on either side of the tracks.
Further from the station, the grid gets looser. Plots grow larger, green spaces appear, and farther west the metropolitan area begins to meet more open land. Plazas are set into the grid at regular intervals. In print they become small pale squares within the dark mesh of streets, a quiet rhythm across the whole sheet.
