São Miguel do Tapuio Map Poster & Print
São Miguel do Tapuio is a municipality in the Brazilian state of Piauí, in the semi-arid interior of the Northeast known as the sertão. Its municipal territory is large, but the town itself is small. Like many interior towns in the region, it serves as a local centre for a scattered rural population.
On a map, the urban area is a modest grid of streets around a central church square, the usual starting point for towns in the Brazilian interior. Beyond the last blocks, roads and tracks run out across open land dotted with small farms. The long, straight lines of those routes stand out against the empty background.
A São Miguel do Tapuio map poster is about proportion: a small, orderly settlement in a very large landscape. The print keeps the town at its centre and lets the sparse lines of the surrounding countryside carry the eye toward the edges.

Sertão roads
Roads and unpaved tracks lead out from the town across the semi-arid countryside. They link farms and villages spread over a wide municipal area.
Open ground
Much of the surrounding land is thinly settled. The print leaves generous white space around the town, which gives it a spacious, quiet composition.
