Sātkania lies in the southern part of Chittagong District in southeastern Bangladesh, between the coastal lowlands and the hill country to the east. The Sangu River flows through the area and shapes much of the local geography, with its meandering channel and fertile banks.
The town has a compact centre of markets, offices and dense housing, with roads leading out towards villages and neighbouring upazilas. The main highway from Chittagong to Cox's Bazar runs through the area, and it forms the most prominent route on the map. Beyond the built-up area, paddies, ponds and scattered homesteads cover the flat ground, while low hills rise towards the east.
