Secunda Map Poster & Print
Secunda is a planned town in Mpumalanga, built in the late 1970s to serve the Sasol synthetic fuels complex, where coal is converted into liquid fuels and chemicals. From above, the town is clearly designed: curving suburban streets and crescents, generous open spaces and wide roads, laid out with a precision that shows it was drawn on a plan before it was built.
To the side of the town lies the Sasol plant itself, one of the largest industrial sites in the country. On a map, its enormous grid of processing units and roads forms a vast, dense rectangle on the open highveld. Nearby townships, including eMbalenhle, add their own street patterns to the wider frame.
A Secunda map poster shows planning and industry at a large scale. The soft curves of the suburbs contrast with the sharp geometry of the plant, and the flat grassland all around gives the composition space. It is an unusual subject for a poster, and a very graphic one.

Planned suburbs
Curving roads, crescents and cul-de-sacs define the town, laid out to a single plan with large parks and green spaces between them.
Open highveld
Flat grassland and farmland surround the town and the plant, leaving wide open areas that frame the built-up shapes.
