Setauket-East Setauket Map Poster & Print
Setauket-East Setauket is a community in the Town of Brookhaven on the North Shore of Long Island, close to Stony Brook University. The coastline is what defines the map. Setauket Harbor and Conscience Bay push inland from Port Jefferson Harbor, and the streets bend around their shores, woodland and older village greens.
This is one of the oldest settled parts of Long Island, and it played a real role in the American Revolution. Setauket was the home base of the Culper Spy Ring, which passed intelligence to George Washington. Residents such as Abraham Woodhull and Anna Strong were among its members, a story later dramatised for television.
A Setauket-East Setauket map poster brings together a historic North Shore village and its irregular coastline. The roads are older and less regular than in the postwar suburbs to the south, and the harbours give the print a strong, complex edge.

Setauket Harbor
The harbour runs inland toward the village. Its shoreline sets out the edge of the older streets and gives the map a second clear arm of water.
Winding village roads
Roads here follow old routes, not a planned grid. They curve around greens, woodland and water, giving the map an organic, unhurried feel.
