Village clusters
Compact groups of houses sit apart from one another across the plain. Each has its own short lanes and open spaces, forming a scattered, cellular pattern on the map.

Shap Pat Heung Map Poster & Print
Shap Pat Heung, whose name means eighteen villages, lies in the Yuen Long district of Hong Kong's New Territories. It occupies the plain between Yuen Long town and the wooded hills of Tai Lam Country Park. On a map it looks nothing like Hong Kong's dense urban core: a patchwork of village clusters, small roads, fields and open storage yards.
The villages follow the traditional New Territories pattern, with tightly grouped houses around ancestral halls and temples, linked by winding roads. Streams come down from the hills and cross the plain in channelled courses. The edge of the country park forms a sharp green boundary to the south.
The area is known for its Tin Hau Festival, when Shap Pat Heung holds one of Hong Kong's largest parades, with lion dances and floral offerings. A Shap Pat Heung map poster captures a side of Hong Kong that few visitors see: villages, hills and quiet roads instead of towers and harbour.

Tai Lam hills
The country park rises along the southern edge, and its slopes are almost empty of roads. On the poster this creates a large, quiet area against the settled plain.
Channelled streams
Watercourses come down from the hills and cross the lowland in straightened channels. They add clear lines that tie the villages to the surrounding landscape.
