Sindgi is in Vijayapura district in northern Karnataka, on the wide, dry plateau of the Deccan. The landscape around the town is flat and heavily farmed, and the map reflects this: a compact built-up core, a few main roads leading out, and large blocks of fields that stretch in every direction with very little to interrupt them.
Inside the town, streets are narrow and closely packed near the centre, typical of an old market settlement. Newer neighbourhoods loosen the pattern towards the edges. Shallow tanks and seasonal streams are the main water features nearby, and they show up as small, soft shapes among the field boundaries.
