Sint-Genesius-Rode, known in French as Rhode-Saint-Genèse, is a municipality in Flemish Brabant just south of Brussels. It is one of the Belgian municipalities with language facilities, reflecting its large French-speaking population. On a map it is a leafy residential area of winding roads, large plots and patches of woodland, bordered to the northeast by the Sonian Forest.
The Sonian Forest is the most striking element: a large expanse of old beech woods crossed by straight paths and avenues that form a fine network on the map.
