Songlou Map Poster & Print
Songlou is a town in the far northwest of Jiangsu province, in the Xuzhou area near the border with Shandong. It stands on the North China Plain, where the land is almost completely flat and every road and field boundary tends to run straight. From above, the town appears as a compact block of streets set in wide agricultural country.
The core of the town is arranged along a few main roads, with shops and housing close to them. Newer residential blocks and workshops fill in the gaps. Beyond this the pattern changes to farmland: long rectangular plots and irrigation channels, with small villages scattered at regular distances like points on a grid.
A Songlou map poster is a portrait of the rural plain as much as of the town itself. Its strength is the contrast between the dense centre and the calm geometry of the fields around it. That clarity comes through very well in a single colour and makes an understated, balanced composition for a wall.

Field patchwork
Rectangular fields and irrigation ditches surround the town on every side, giving the outer map a steady, textile-like pattern of parallel lines.
Scattered villages
Small villages sit at intervals across the plain, each a tight cluster of lanes linked to the town by straight country roads.
