Tietê Map Poster & Print
Tietê lies in the interior of São Paulo state, on the Tietê River, which gives the town its name. On a map the river is the defining line. It curves past the town, and the street grid comes right up to its bank. Bridges carry the roads across to the other side and on towards Piracicaba, Sorocaba and the rest of the region.
The Tietê River itself is an unusual feature. It rises close to the Atlantic coast but flows inland, away from the sea, across the state towards the Paraná River. That journey made it an important route into the interior in colonial times, and towns like this one grew along its course.
A Tietê map poster pairs a regular town grid with the soft curve of a major river. The centre is orderly and dense. The riverbanks and the farmland beyond are drawn in looser lines. The combination gives the poster a natural sense of movement from one side of the frame to the other.

Bridge crossings
Road bridges carry traffic over the river. They link the two banks and connect the town to the wider road network of the interior.
Town grid
The central streets form regular blocks that run almost to the riverbank. They create a neat, well-proportioned heart for the poster.
