Villa Alemana Map Poster & Print
Villa Alemana lies in the Valparaíso Region of Chile, in the Marga Marga valley behind the coastal cities of Viña del Mar and Valparaíso. It grew mainly as a residential town, with a milder, sunnier climate than the coast. On the map it stretches along the valley, and the surrounding hills set clear limits on its shape.
The Valparaíso metro, the regional commuter rail line, runs through the valley and connects Villa Alemana to the coast. From above, the railway is the city's spine. Streets form a regular grid on either side, and they become more irregular as neighbourhoods climb the lower slopes of the hills.
A Villa Alemana map poster shows a town that is closely tied to its valley. The railway runs through the middle, streets fill the flat ground, and the edges break up against the hills. In black and white, the long, narrow shape reads clearly and forms a calm, well-balanced composition.

Valley grid
On the flatter valley floor, streets follow a regular grid. This gives the middle of the map an even, orderly texture.
Surrounding hills
Dry, rounded hills close in on either side. Streets bend and thin out as they climb, and the edge of the town looks soft and irregular.
