West Islip Map Poster & Print
West Islip lies on the South Shore of Long Island, in the town of Islip in Suffolk County. On a map, its streets run south from the main east-west highways toward the Great South Bay, where the land breaks into a series of narrow canals and inlets lined with houses and boat docks.
The northern part of the hamlet is laid out in a familiar suburban pattern of curving streets and cul-de-sacs. Further south, the shoreline becomes intricate, and the long barrier islands of Fire Island lie across the bay, sheltering the water from the Atlantic.
A West Islip map poster captures the character of a South Shore community: quiet residential streets, parks and schools inland, and a shoreline cut into a comb of canals. It is a detailed, elegant image for anyone who grew up near the bay or keeps a boat on it.
