Windsor Map Poster & Print
Windsor lies on the south bank of the Thames in Berkshire, west of London. From above, the castle is the defining shape. It stands on a chalk ridge above the river, and its walls and wards make an outline visible even at small scale. The town's streets gather tightly around its gates.
South of the castle, the Long Walk runs as an avenue several kilometres long, perfectly straight, out into Windsor Great Park, a large area of parkland, woods and water. Across the river, a bridge links Windsor to Eton, and the college grounds and playing fields spread over the far bank.
Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world and has been a royal residence for more than 900 years. A Windsor map poster shows how it shaped the town: the river curving on one side, the park stretching away on the other, and the castle between them.

The Long Walk
A straight avenue runs south from the castle into Windsor Great Park. It is one of the clearest single lines on any English town map.
Thames and Eton
The Thames bends past the town, and a bridge crosses to Eton on the north bank, where the college's buildings and fields fill the other side of the frame.
