Woodstock Map Poster & Print
Woodstock lies northwest of Chicago in McHenry County, surrounded by farmland, lakes and woods. On a map the town has a clear centre: a small square with a park in the middle. From there, streets extend in a mostly regular grid before loosening into curving subdivisions and open countryside at the edges.
The square and its surrounding buildings, including the Woodstock Opera House, were the setting for the 1993 film Groundhog Day, standing in for Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania. The town now holds its own Groundhog Days celebration each winter, and the square remains one of the best-preserved historic town centres in the region.
A Woodstock map poster centres on that square, with the park and the blocks around it forming a neat focal point. A rail line runs through town toward Chicago, and the grid gradually gives way to farmland and scattered ponds. It is a map that feels orderly and familiar, much like the town itself.

Rail line
The commuter line to Chicago crosses the town as a long straight stroke that cuts through the grid and connects Woodstock with the wider region.
Rural edges
Beyond the residential streets, the map opens into fields, woodland and ponds, typical of McHenry County's mix of farmland and small lakes.
