The town occupies lower ground among the hills. Its streets bend to fit the valleys, which gives the core an irregular, organic outline.

Yongcheng Map Poster & Print
Yongcheng is a town within the municipality of Chongqing, in the hilly country south of the main urban area. The terrain of this part of southwest China is rarely flat. Settlements tend to sit on valley floors or along ridges, and farmland climbs the slopes in terraces.
On a map, Yongcheng is a compact built-up area whose streets follow the lie of the land. Instead of forming a regular grid, they curve with the valleys and hillsides. Roads leave the town along the lowest routes available, and small streams and reservoirs dot the surrounding countryside.
A Yongcheng map poster captures the organic character of a hill-country settlement. The dense cluster of streets at the centre loosens into winding roads and field edges, and the print takes on a natural, flowing quality rather than a planned geometry.

Hill farmland
The land around the town is agricultural and hilly. On the print it appears as open space broken by field boundaries, streams and small bodies of water.
