Railway line
The railway crosses the settlement in a long straight line, and the station is the reason the town grew here. It remains the main axis of the map.

Zimovniki Map Poster & Print
Zimovniki is the administrative centre of Zimovnikovsky District, in the east of Rostov Oblast. It lies in the steppe, where the land is flat and open and the horizon is wide. The settlement grew around a railway station, and the tracks still cross the map in a long straight line. The streets run in a regular grid beside the railway, with wide blocks of low houses and gardens.
The economy of the area is based on farming and livestock on the surrounding steppe. Roads leave Zimovniki toward other district centres across open farmland, and shelterbelts of trees mark field edges in long straight lines. The settlement has a clear edge, with countryside beginning immediately beyond the last streets.
A Zimovniki map poster is an exercise in geometry. The straight railway, the rectangular blocks and the ruled field boundaries create a strict, almost abstract composition. There are few curves, and that is its appeal. For people from the steppe, it shows familiar order and space, and it looks especially good in the Blueprint style.

Regular street grid
Wide, evenly spaced streets form rectangular blocks of houses with gardens. This typical steppe layout reads very cleanly in print.
Open steppe
The land beyond the town is flat farmland divided by straight tree belts. It surrounds the settlement with wide, quiet space in every direction.
