Zweibrücken Map Poster & Print
Zweibrücken lies in the southwest of Rhineland-Palatinate, close to the border with Saarland and not far from France. The Schwarzbach river winds through the town, and the name, meaning two bridges, points to early crossings over it. On a map, the centre gathers around the river and the palace, with residential areas spreading across the surrounding hills.
The town was the seat of the Dukes of Palatinate-Zweibrücken, and the palace remains at its heart. Zweibrücken is also known for its large rose garden, one of the best-known in Germany. On the edge of town, a former military air base now hosts an outlet centre and business area, and its long runway still shows clearly on the map.
A Zweibrücken map poster brings together the river, the historic centre, the rose garden and the runway. Each has a very different shape, from winding water to formal paths to a straight strip, and together they make an unusual, layered composition.
