Al Mansurah lies on the east bank of the Damietta branch of the Nile, deep in the Delta. On a map the river forms a clear, gently curving line, with the city on one side and Talkha on the other, linked by bridges. Around both, the land is flat and divided by irrigation canals that reach far into the surrounding farmland.
The city was founded in the early thirteenth century, and its name, meaning the victorious, recalls the battle of 1250 in which the army of the Seventh Crusade was defeated nearby. The French king Louis IX was captured and held in the town, and the house where he is said to have been kept still stands as a museum.
Today Mansoura is known across Egypt for its large university and its medical centres. The street network is dense near the riverbank and loosens as it spreads inland along main roads and canals. A Al Mansurah map poster shows that relationship between river, streets and cultivated land in a single frame.
The eastern branch of the Nile runs past the city on its way to the Mediterranean, dividing Mansoura from Talkha and giving the poster its main line.
A road follows the bank for a long stretch, and the densest part of the city sits just behind it, with streets running back from the water.
Beyond the built-up area, narrow canals and field boundaries form a fine pattern of lines, typical of the Nile Delta seen from above.

Aiheā Al Mansurah
For students who spent years at the university, or families with deep roots in Dakahlia, Mansoura is a strong part of their story. A map with the Nile running through it is a clear, simple reminder of that place.
Add a title in your own words, a subtitle with a date, and the coordinates line. Then choose one of five styles, from Classic black & white to the warmer Sand, which suits the Delta landscape well.
