Al Qawāsim is a town in the Jabal al Gharbi district of northwestern Libya, in the upland area often called the Nafusa Mountains. This escarpment rises above the coastal plain of Tripolitania, and towns here were traditionally built on ridges and plateau edges, with farmland and olive groves on the surrounding slopes.
