Albuquerque stretches across a wide valley in the high desert. The Rio Grande runs through the middle from north to south, lined with the cottonwood forest of the bosque, and it divides the city into its eastern and western halves. To the east, the streets climb gradually toward the steep face of the Sandia Mountains. To the west, they spread onto the mesa, where a line of old volcanic cones marks the horizon.
The city's history is layered into the map. Old Town, established in 1706, keeps its plaza and short, irregular streets near the river. Central Avenue follows a stretch of historic Route 66 through the city from east to west. The interchange of Interstates 25 and 40 forms a sharp knot northeast of downtown, and each October the Balloon Fiesta fills the sky to the north.
An Albuquerque map poster shows those systems crossing one another. The long, straight arterial roads of the east side, the soft green line of the river, the plaza grid in Old Town and the looser developments on the West Mesa all fit in one frame. The mountains and mesa give the city a clear boundary on both sides.

The original Spanish colonial settlement keeps its central plaza and short streets. It is a small, irregular pattern set against the city's larger grid.
Old Route 66 runs straight across the city from the mountains to the mesa, crossing the river. It is the longest continuous line on the poster.

Aiheā Albuquerque
Albuquerque draws people for its light, its mountains and its mix of cultures. A map of the city is an understated way to keep that high-desert place close after moving away, or to celebrate settling there.
Personalise the title, add a subtitle such as a neighbourhood or a date, and set the coordinates line. Choose from five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand suits the desert especially well.
