Te mape
Anoka grew up where the Rum River joins the Mississippi, north of Minneapolis, and the rivers still define its outline. The Rum curves down through town to meet the Mississippi, which forms the southern edge. That places the historic centre on a point of land, with water shaping its streets and bridges.
Beyond that core, the map shows a familiar Upper Midwest pattern. A regular street grid near downtown gives way to curving residential loops, riverside parks and the highway corridors that tie Anoka to the Twin Cities. The contrast between the orderly grid and the winding Rum is what makes the composition work.
The city calls itself the Halloween Capital of the World. In 1920 it held one of the first community Halloween celebrations in the country, meant to keep young people out of mischief. An Anoka map poster does not show parades, of course, but it does show the river town that has kept that tradition going.
The Rum winds through the city and meets the Mississippi at the edge of downtown, creating a point of land that anchors the whole map.
The broad Mississippi runs along Anoka's southern side, a wide band on the poster that separates the city from the communities across the water.
Near the confluence, a tidy grid of short blocks forms the historic centre, easy to pick out against the looser suburban streets around it.

Aiheā Anoka
Anoka suits anyone who grew up in the north metro, went to school here or simply loves river towns. The two rivers give the design a natural focal point, and it pairs well with a Minneapolis map for a wider Twin Cities story.
Use the title and subtitle to mark a wedding, a first house or a Halloween tradition, and adjust the coordinates line as you like. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir feels right for October.
