Bagru lies about thirty kilometres west of Jaipur in Rajasthan, and it is known far beyond India for its hand block printing. For generations, families of the Chhipa community have printed textiles here using carved wooden blocks and natural dyes, including the mud-resist technique called dabu. The craft still shapes daily life, with fabric often laid out to dry in open ground.
From above, Bagru has a compact old core of narrow, irregular lanes, typical of a historic Rajasthani town, surrounded by newer streets and then by flat, dry farmland. A main road links it to Jaipur, and the town's edges are loose, with tracks leading out into fields. The pattern is dense in the centre and wide open around it.
A Bagru map poster offers a clear picture of a place better known for its fabrics than its streets. The tight knot of the old town and the open land around it make a strong, simple composition in black and white. It would sit well beside a Bagru print, pairing the town's craft with the plan of the streets where it is made.
The historic centre is a tight cluster of narrow, winding lanes, where many printing workshops and family homes stand close together.
A main road runs east toward Jaipur, connecting the town with the state capital and the markets that sell its printed textiles.
Around the town, open land and flat fields spread out on the map, the same kind of space where printed cloth is traditionally laid out in the sun.

Aiheā Bagru
Textile designers, collectors and travellers who have visited the workshops often want a reminder of Bagru that goes beyond fabric. The poster's title and subtitle can mark a visit or a studio name, and the coordinates can point to a specific workshop.
Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. The $9 digital download covers six print sizes, and printed posters on matte paper are shipped from partners in more than 30 countries.
