Bharūch lies on the northern bank of the Narmada river in southern Gujarat, near where the river widens into the Gulf of Khambhat. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in western India. Two thousand years ago, Greek and Roman traders knew it as Barygaza, an important port for trade across the Arabian Sea.
On a map, the Narmada is the dominant feature, forming a wide band of water with sandbars along the city's southern side. The old town sits on higher ground above the river, with dense lanes and small blocks. The Golden Bridge, an iron bridge completed in 1881 during the colonial era, crosses the river beside newer road and rail bridges.
A Bharūch map poster shows the broad river, the bridges that cross it, and the tightly packed old town on the bank. Newer industrial and residential districts spread to the north and east along the main roads. The contrast between the wide, open river and the dense city gives the print a strong structure.

This colonial-era iron bridge across the Narmada, completed in 1881, stands among the newer crossings downstream.
The historic city is built on higher ground above the river. Its dense, winding lanes contrast with the straighter roads of newer districts.

Aiheā Bharūch
Bharūch's roots go back to the ancient trade routes, but for its residents and many families abroad it is simply the town by the river. A map of the Narmada and the old lanes keeps that familiar view close.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with a family name or wedding date. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The wide river stands out especially well in Noir.
