Caransebeş grew up where the Sebeş joins the Timiş, in a broad valley between the Semenic Mountains and the higher ranges of the Southern Carpathians. On a map the two rivers form a clear fork, with the older streets gathered near the confluence and newer districts spreading along the valley roads. The railway follows the same corridor, running north toward Timişoara and south toward the Danube.
For centuries the town sat on a frontier, first between rival powers in the Banat and later as part of the Habsburg Military Frontier. It is often linked with a chaotic episode of 1788, when Austrian troops are said to have fought among themselves nearby, a story that has been heavily embellished over time. Today it is a quieter regional centre and a gateway to the mountains.
A Caransebeş map poster captures that valley setting: the river fork, the streets packed between the waterways and the long straight lines of road and rail heading out of town. With the slopes left pale, the map has a calm, balanced shape, and it reads just as well to someone who grew up here as to a walker who used the town as a starting point.
Two rivers meet at the edge of the town, their channels forming a distinct Y on the map that locates the historic heart of Caransebeş.
The valley funnels the railway and main roads along the same line, drawing parallel strokes that run the length of the poster from north to south.
To the east and west the valley narrows toward high ground, so the street pattern thins quickly and gives way to open, quiet space.

Aiheā Caransebeş
Many people who left the Banat keep a strong attachment to its towns, and a street map is a discreet way to keep one close. The river fork gives Caransebeş an instantly recognisable shape that works as a piece of design even for those who have never visited.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be changed, so the poster can carry a family name, a year of departure or a simple dedication. Five styles are available, including the warm Paper and Sand tones, and every size comes as a 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF.
