Catanauan is a municipality in Quezon province, on the long, narrow Bondoc Peninsula that reaches south from the main body of Luzon. The town faces the sea, and on a map its centre appears as a modest grid set close to the water, with the coastline curving away on either side. Beyond the poblacion, the land rises into low hills, much of it planted with coconut, the crop that defines this part of Quezon.
The poster captures that meeting of land and water. Streets run parallel and perpendicular to the shore, a coastal road links Catanauan with neighbouring towns along the peninsula, and creeks and rivers run down from the interior to the sea. In black and white, the solid mass of the land against the empty field of water gives the design a strong, simple outline.
A Catanauan map poster works well for people with roots in southern Quezon, many of whom now live in Metro Manila or overseas and keep close ties to their home barangays. It also suits anyone who has spent time on the Bondoc Peninsula, a quieter and more rural corner of Calabarzon than the provinces closer to the capital.
The sea defines the town's edge. The coastline gives the map a firm boundary, and the small street grid of the poblacion stands out clearly against it.
A road running along the Bondoc Peninsula connects Catanauan with the towns to either side, following the shore and the lower slopes behind it.
Inland, the map opens into rolling ground dominated by coconut farming, with scattered barangays linked by thin rural roads that wind between the hills.

Aiheā Catanauan
A map of Catanauan keeps the shape of a hometown close: the streets of the poblacion, the shore where the town ends, the road out along the peninsula. It is a calm, graphic piece that reads well from across a room and holds its detail up close.
