College Park, just outside Washington, D.C., is shaped above all by the University of Maryland, whose flagship campus fills a large part of the map. Nearby is College Park Airport, founded in 1909 when Wilbur Wright trained the first military pilots there. It is widely regarded as the oldest continuously operating airport in the world.
