Crowthorne is a large village in Berkshire, in the heathland and pine forest country south-east of Reading. It grew in the nineteenth century around Wellington College, the public school founded in memory of the Duke of Wellington, and Broadmoor, the high-security psychiatric hospital on the hill to the east.
