Ḑamad is in the Jazan Region of south-western Saudi Arabia, on the flat Tihamah plain between the Red Sea and the mountains to the east. From above, the town is a spread of low blocks and straight roads on open ground. Cultivated plots and scattered settlements extend across the plain around it.
