Te mape
Danané lies in the Montagnes region, in the far west of Côte d'Ivoire, close to where the country meets Liberia and Guinea. The landscape around it is hilly and forested, and the town's layout responds to that terrain: a central area of more regular streets, with neighbourhoods reaching out along ridges and valleys in less predictable directions.
Main roads leave town toward Man to the east and toward the Liberian border to the west, and these routes give the map its strongest lines. Between them, smaller streets and paths fill the gaps, often ending where the ground becomes steeper or cultivated land begins. The result is a town that reads as a clearing within a green, undulating region.
The area is home to the Dan, also known as Yacouba, whose carved masks are among the best known in West African art. A Danané map poster reflects the town's setting rather than any single monument, the pattern of streets giving way to the hills that have shaped life here for a very long time.
The main route east to the regional capital runs out of town as a firm, continuous line, the backbone around which much of Danané's growth has taken place.
Residential quarters follow the contours of the land, so streets curve and branch rather than forming a grid, giving the map an organic, hand-drawn quality.
Near the meeting point of three countries, the town sits within wooded hills whose sparse tracks leave ample white space around the built-up centre.

Aiheā Danané
For people from Danané living elsewhere in Côte d'Ivoire or abroad, a map of the home town is a simple, lasting way to keep it close. It works equally well as a gift for a family member or a reminder of time spent in the west.
Personalise the title and subtitle, add a date or the name of a quarter, and adjust the coordinates. Of the five styles, Sand and Paper complement the earthy, forested setting, while Classic black & white or Noir give the street pattern a sharp graphic look.
