Danville is the seat of Boyle County, set in the gently rolling country of central Kentucky south of Lexington. From above, its downtown is a clear grid of blocks centred on Main Street, and the street pattern loosens outward into residential neighbourhoods with larger lots. Beyond them come farms, fence lines and winding rural roads that are typical of the Bluegrass region.
