El Limón sits on the northern edge of Maracay, where the flat floor of the Aragua valley begins to rise into the Cordillera de la Costa. From above the contrast is immediate: a dense pattern of residential streets fills the lower ground, then breaks off abruptly against the forested slopes. Roads bend and narrow as they climb, following the lines of the terrain.
The area is known as a gateway to Henri Pittier National Park, the oldest national park in Venezuela, established in 1937. The road that crosses the mountains toward Ocumare de la Costa and the Caribbean shore begins its climb here, winding through cloud forest on the way north. That single curving road is one of the most distinctive lines on the local map.
An El Limón map poster frames the meeting of city and mountain. In black and white, the compact blocks of the suburb stand against the open space of the park, and the switchbacks heading north add a line of real movement. It is a map about thresholds, the last streets before the forest begins.

A winding mountain road leaves El Limón heading north over the Cordillera de la Costa toward Ocumare de la Costa, its curves tracing a clear path across the empty slopes.
On the lower ground toward central Maracay, residential blocks sit close together on flatter land, forming a tight mesh that gradually loosens as the terrain rises.
