Fortaleza faces the Atlantic on the northeastern bulge of Brazil, and from above its defining line is the shore. The coast runs from the beaches of the west past the old centre, bends around the port of Mucuripe and then turns south toward Praia do Futuro. Behind it the street grid is remarkably regular, a checkerboard of blocks extending inland for many kilometres with only a few diagonal avenues breaking the rhythm.
Along the waterfront, Avenida Beira-Mar traces the curve of the beach, lined with high-rise towers that make the coastal strip the densest part of the city. The Cocó River cuts through the southeastern districts, and around it lies the Parque do Cocó, a wide belt of mangrove and forest that reads on the map as a long, irregular gap in the grid.
Fortaleza is the capital of Ceará and one of Brazil's largest cities, known for its jangadas, the traditional sail rafts still used by fishermen, and for the Dragão do Mar cultural centre near the old port district. A Fortaleza map poster brings together the geometric city and the soft line of the Atlantic that frames it.
The seafront avenue follows the beach between Iracema and Mucuripe, where the coast bends sharply at the port and gives the map its most recognisable corner.
A protected corridor of mangroves and woodland along the Cocó River, it winds through the southeastern districts as a long green break in the otherwise continuous street pattern.
Away from the coast, square blocks repeat almost without interruption, producing the fine, even texture that makes Fortaleza especially striking in black and white.

Aiheā Fortaleza
Fortaleza is a city of sea air and straight streets, and the poster captures both at once. It suits anyone who grew up in Ceará, spent a season on its beaches or keeps family ties there, and it looks equally at home in a bright room or a quiet study.
Add a title, a subtitle with a date, or edit the coordinates line before downloading. The Sand and Paper styles echo the coast, while Blueprint makes the grid feel technical. Printed posters ship on matte paper from partners in more than 30 countries, with an optional wooden frame.
